Do away with copper and help your business perform at full capacity
Sometimes known as “full fibre” or “pure fibre”, Fibre to the Premises (FTTP) connectivity is just as the name implies; data delivered all the way to your building through fibre optic cabling.
What is FTTP and how does it work?
Unlike a Fibre to the Cabinet connection – where data makes the last leg of its journey from the street-side green cabinet to your home through a copper cable – with an FTTP connection, data travels all the way from the exchange to your building via fibre optic. The speed you get won’t be affected by the length of the cable as it would be with copper, resulting in a steadier, more reliable connection.
With download speeds of 76Mbps and uploads of 19Mbps, smaller businesses can comfortably use VoIP and cloud applications alongside usual browsing and streaming.
For businesses that require full fibre connectivity with a guaranteed 5 hour fix time, 24 hours a day as well as synchronous upload and download speeds, it may be time for a fibre optic leased line.
How long does it take?
If your building is already “on net” then 10 working days. If not, then a lead time of between 1-3 months would be usual.
